Midwest Travel Guides

The midwest can get a bad rap. You may imagine endless corn fields, flat landscapes, rural countryside and a lack of things to do. While there are plenty of corn fields, the midwest is actually FULL of incredible landscapes, fun cities and beautiful variety.

I’m from the Midwest (Cincinnati, Ohio), but I didn’t visit some of the other midwest states until my late 20’s. Personally, I’ve been especially blown away by some of the beauty in Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota and South Dakota. However, I’ve had the pleasure of hiking and exploring all of the midwest states, and every single one has something beautiful to offer.

A few of my favorite parks in the midwest include Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, MI, Hocking Hills State Park, OH, Turkey Run State Park, IN, Apostle Islands National Lakeshore, WI, Custer State Park, SD and Porcupine Mountains, MI. However, this barely scratches the surface!

A few of my favorite cities in the Midwest include Cincinnati, OH, Madison, WI, Cedar Rapids, IA, Duluth, MN and Traverse City, MI.
